Lu Yi leads Jinyiwei to arrest him; he is beheaded the next day to public acclaim. Jinxia encounters Lu Yi at home. Yang Yue and Shangguan Xi are married with a child. Jinxia waits outside the prison daily. An ailing Jiajing dreams of Lu Ting, thinks of his son in prison, and issues a general pardon. Jinxia finally welcomes Lu Yi upon his release, and they live happily ever after.
