In this vlog, we will confront the harsh realities faced by Indian travelers and tourists at this notorious border. From Pakse, we got into a mini-van towards the Laos-Cambodia border. This particular border has gained infamy as the worst-rated border on Google, and in this video, you will witness firsthand the discrimination and mistreatment faced by Indians due to our nationality. Countless videos by Indian travelers show the troubling behavior exhibited by Cambodian border officials. It is a grave concern that despite numerous raised voices and shared experiences, Indians continue to be subjected to exploitation and bullying while traveling in this region. As a Hindu, I eagerly anticipated visiting the majestic Angkor Wat temple, the largest Hindu temple complex in the world. However, the treatment I encountered at the border checkpoint left me seething with anger and disappointment. The situation is so cheap because each officer demanded a $2 bribe under the guise of providing a cup of hot coffee. The impact of this encounter was profound, marking it as one of the worst moments in my life - one that remains unforgivable and etched into my memory. Additionally, our promised AC van from the border to Siem Reap, priced at $35, turned out to be a terrible car that fell far short of expectations. It is crucial to exercise caution when navigating through Cambodia, as it is a communist country where one's actions can easily land them in trouble. I share this story not only as a cautionary tale but also to shed light on the struggles faced by travelers in this region.
