In this video, I'm working on an unassuming corner of my garden—the boundary with my neighbors. For years, this area was open, unfinished, and somehow a reflection of my own hesitancy. Drawing a line feels wrong at first: like excluding someone, drawing boundaries, closing myself off. But as I begin to shape this corner—with a small fence panel and the first shrubs—my perspective shifts. I realize: Boundaries don't just separate. They create spaces. A garden is only a garden because it has boundaries. And perhaps that applies to ourselves as well.
