Skoda Fabia Towbar Electrics (No Relay - Works Perfectly)

In this video I wire up a towbar on a skoda fabia, without using a relay. I have tested this with my small trailer and it does not cause any warning lights to come on in car. Do you have to use a relay when wiring a towbar? No not really. I am not sure what vulnerabilities are introduced to the car electronics, by wiring tow bar electrics direct to light cluster wires. But I have done it this way a few times, with no ill effect. And here I do it again and it appears to work. It may be different in you tow larger trailers with more lights on them but this is unlikely on a Skoda Fabia. It may be that you could short on the wiring by plugging in a defectively wired trailer but again this risk of this is small if you just use one trailer.
