A report by the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute says that India has now made 12 nuclear warheads live. However, the report further explains that India has not abandoned its no-first use nuclear policy or has aimed nuclear weapons at others. It simply states that India has activated its nuclear triad where two nuclear submarines, the INS Arihant and the INS Aridhman now have 6 nuclear warheads each. This means that India's policy of keeping nuclear warheads stored in a separate location from the delivery systems doesn't apply to the two submarines.
