242: De CLAY Studio 1:35 Tyrannosaurus Rex (2023) Review

Every now and then, something comes along that immediately arrests your attention as something special. Something amazing that you really, really want, and would be willing to work many extra hours to afford it. It’s been a while since that happened, but now I can present my latest fruit of my my labours… the De CLAY Studio 1:35 Tyrannosaurus Rex. Over the years it’s been my privilege to get to know different artists all over the world. De CLAY Studio hails from Hanoi, Vietnam, making it my first connection in the area. They produce prehistoric fauna in the 1:20 and 1:35 scales, and while this T Rex is available in 1:20, I prefer the smaller scale especially due to lack of space. The most striking effect of this model are the amazing colours. The sheer complexity and translucency of the layers is amazing to behold, and help create something out of living flesh and blood. Add to that the bulky form currently so popular, and lips to boot, and you have a winner through and through!
