Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” John 14:27 (NKJV) The following piece — a medley for two pedal harps based on the Jewish folk melodies “Hineh Ma Tov” and “Hevenu Shalom Aleichem” — is dedicated to the people of Israel. The text of the first song is a direct biblical quotation from Psalm 133:1 “Hinneh ma tov u’ma na’im, schevet achim gam yachad.” “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is For brethren to dwell together in unity!” (NKJV) “Hevenu Shalom Aleichem” “We bring peace to you all.” The topic of “peace” was, is, and remains profoundly relevant. Many people are affected by conflict, fear, and uncertainty.
