Are you familiar with the problem of needing several identical parts but not wanting to wait hours for the entire print job to finish? By default, your 3D printer prints layer by layer across all models, which often results in unsightly stringing ("spiderwebs") on many parts. In this video, I'll explain sequential printing—also known as "object by object"—where the printer completes one part entirely before moving on to the next. We'll look together at how to activate this function in the slicer under the special modes. However, we need to be aware of physical limitations: The models must not be too close together to prevent the X-axis of your printer from colliding with already printed parts. The slicer helps you maintain the appropriate safety distances on the build plate. As a special bonus, I'll show you how to manually set the print order using drag and drop, for example, to print front parts first and remove them safely. You'll also learn a G-code trick for creating pauses between objects and how to massively save filament in multi-color prints by drastically reducing the number of filament changes per job. ⏱️ Chapters / Timestamps 00:00 – Problem: Parallel vs. Sequential Printing 00:48 – Intro: Slicer Saturday & Partner Introduction 01:08 – 3D Printing Academy & Scanning Course 01:41 – What is Sequential Printing? 00:00 – Sequential Printing 02:11 – Advantages: Faster access & less stringing 02:43 – Activation in the slicer (special mode) 02:54 – Important: Safety distances & X-axis height 03:55 – Bonus tip 1: Manually changing the print order 04:38 – Bonus tip 2: Pauses via G-code (M601/M0) 05:32 – Saving filament when printing multicolors 06:26 – Conclusion & community question My Equipment 🛒 *My camera: Sony Alpha ZV-E10: https://amzn.to/420rxre 🛒 *My second camera: DJI Osmo Pocket 3: https://amzn.to/4r3y137 🛒 *My microphone: DJI Mic Mini: https://amzn.to/4hxctWC 📜 FTC DISCLAIMER All marked with * Links or discount codes marked as such in the description of my videos are affiliate links.
