IBO's Z'Gok Is A... Space Egg!? | HG 598's Monkey Rodi/Monkey Crab Rodi UNBOXING & REVIEW [4K]

Hi guys and welcome to my review of the High Grade 598's Monkey Rodi, which also includes all the parts in the box to reconfigure it as the Monkey Crab Rodi! This weirdo space egg is a refreshing breath of value at a crucial point where Bandai just seems to want to raise prices, as the amount of plastic in this box is pretty respectable at the price point this kit comes in at, and all of the posing variety the accessories and the two configuration options give you is just the cherry on top! Not everything is sunshine and rainbows however, as while the value of what is included is great, the quality does seem to be a bit of a mixed bag, while the plastic mass is solid, the parts separation and build complexity errs on the side of simplicity over the parts separation a lot of modern high grade kits trend towards, reusing a decent amount of frame from 2015's HG Man Rodi. On top of that, there are a number of small accents that will need to be painted to get this kit color accurate and the kit looks exceptionally plain out of box, to the point where imo panel lining is a necessity here and articulation also suffers due to the proportions as well as the reuse of over 10 year old frame at this point. Do all of these misgivings add up to make this kit a miss or does the value and novelty of this design overcome those shortcomings and make this kit a surprise hit?
