Saab 9-5 Steering Wheel & Airbag Removal – Fix Horn & Buttons

Hello, to all my DIY mechanics! Today, I'll show you how to remove the steering wheel, including the airbag, on a Saab 9-5 "Dame Edna" model (from 2006 onwards). This can be useful if you want to replace either of them or access the components underneath, such as the clock spring or the turn signal and wiper stalks. My car has had an issue for a while: the airbag warning light is on, the horn doesn’t work, and the volume buttons often malfunction or have swapped functions. All of this suggests that the clock spring has a broken wire. Important: This video is meant for informational purposes only and is not an official guide. Also, airbag-related work should only be done by trained professionals, as airbags can be dangerous! 00:00-00:45 Symptoms 00:45-01:03 Disclaimer 01:03-01:28 Plastic Cover 01:28-02:40: Airbag Removal 02:40-03:38: Steering Wheel Removal 03:38-04:09: Replacing the Clock Spring 04:09-04:58: Further Considerations
