The clause is a group of words that has its own subject and predicate. there types of clauses are as follows Co-ordinate clauses - When two clauses are connected by the co-coordinating conjunction, both the clauses are co-ordinate clauses. Super-ordinate clause/main clause/principle clause/independent clause and Subordinate clauses / dependent clauses When two clauses are connected by sub-subordinating conjunction, one of them is main clause while the other is the subordinate clause. The types of the sentences are - Simple sentence - When the sentence has only one subject and only one finite verb, that sentence is the Simple Sentence Compound sentence - When two clauses are connected by a coordinating conjunction, that sentence is Compound Sentence. Complex Sentence - When two clauses are connected by a subordinating conjunction, that sentence is a Complex Sentence.
