Surrealism Painting//The Concept of Time
Hey there! This commission painting was a long but truly enjoyable process. I've always been a fan on surrealism and having someone want a painting based on a concept sketch I did was so cool! I textured the canvas with modeling paste to give some interest, but also to get rid of the canvas texture which I think worked out really well. The reason I toned the canvas with burnt sienna is because painting on white canvas doesn't allow me to see lights and darks accurately. Having a mid-tone already on the canvas makes it far easier. I hope you enjoy the video and if you have any questions, please feel free to leave them in the comments. Oh, and the customer was thrilled with the painting so all's well!!!
