Sodium hydroxide (caustic soda), commonly used in soap making, is a highly toxic substance not classified as a medical product, and incidents of burns, blindness, and violations of wastewater standards occur frequently worldwide. Knowing the "correct handling" is paramount to preventing such accidents.
