Live broadcast of the awards ceremony for the 5th Social Innovation Awards: Pharmacists and the SDGs, taking place on June 17th at the Teatro Lírico Calderón in Madrid. This event, organized by the General Council of Pharmaceutical Associations, aims to recognize the work of pharmacists and associations as agents of social transformation and is supported by AstraZeneca and CaixaBank. In the SOCIAL CATEGORY, within the community pharmacy sector, the following projects have been selected as finalists: “Books that Heal,” by Luis García Moreno and Trinidad Martínez y Martínez (Albacete). “Lavapiés Pharmacy Project and Solidarity Account,” led by María Esteban Jiménez, Sara Pla Beltrán, and Vanesa Piñeiro Vidal (Madrid). In the SOCIAL CATEGORY, within the area aimed at pharmacists—individually or in groups—who practice in settings other than community pharmacy, the jury has selected the following as finalists: “Study of mental health and lifestyle habits in the trans population undergoing hormone therapy: diet, lifestyle habits, and cardiovascular function,” by Farmacia Carmen Palomar, Málaga (University of Granada). “Health and Well-being: Seniors in situations of dependency and/or loneliness,” by Más Que Farmacia (Seville). In the SOCIAL CATEGORY, the finalists for the Pharmaceutical Associations and SDGs Award are: “Perinatal Mental Health (Pregnancy and Postpartum)” Campaign, by the Council of Official Colleges of Pharmacists of Aragon. “Program for optimizing adherence to pharmacotherapeutic treatment through Personalized Dosing Systems (PDS) in municipalities at risk of depopulation in order to reverse demographic decline,” by the Official College of Pharmacists of Navarre. Ítaca Farmacéutica Project, by the Council of Pharmaceutical Colleges of Catalonia. In the ENVIRONMENTAL CATEGORY, the finalist chosen by the jury to compete for the Community Pharmacist and SDG Award was: “Education for sustainability and responsible medicines management: educational intervention with pharmacist participation in secondary education,” by the Carolina Viera Bosa Pharmacy (Las Palmas). Eco-Farmamer Project: Integration of Pharmacotherapeutic Monitoring and Circular Economy in Community Pharmacy, by M. Mercedes Viguera Estrada (Badajoz). The finalist projects for the Pharmacists and SDGs Award, included in the environmental category, are the following: "Green Hospital Pharmacy: Sustainable Transformation of the Medication Use Process," from the Pharmacy Service of La Paz University Hospital, Madrid. "Sustainability in a Pharmaceutical Distribution Warehouse and its Impact on Pharmacies and Society," from the Asturian Pharmaceutical Cooperative (COFAS). For the Pharmaceutical Associations and SDGs Award (environmental category), the jury has selected these finalists: "West Nile Virus Prevention in Seville," from the Official College of Pharmacists of Seville. "Carbon Footprint of Pharmacies in the Province of Zaragoza," from the Official College of Pharmacists of Zaragoza.
