Neck pain can be caused by many reasons. Cervical spondylosis, cervical spondylolisthesis, cervical ribs, cervical canal stenosis or spinal canal narrowing can cause this pain. In addition, cervical disc prolapse or herniation can put pressure on the disc nerve. Sleeping in an abnormal position, lifting something heavy while leaning forward or leaning to one side, working with the neck bent or raised for a long time can cause neck pain. The symptoms of this pain can be different, which can extend to the shoulders, arms and even fingers. There may be numbness in the shoulders, arms, hands and fingers and a feeling that the neck is holding. Sometimes the pain increases after lifting something heavy with the neck bent or after excessive work or when sneezing, coughing or leaning forward. The pain can start from the back of the head and come to the front of the head. Before treating neck pain, various blood tests, X-rays, MRI, CT scans, etc. may be needed to determine the cause. Treatment The main goal of neck pain treatment is: =============================== 1. To relieve pain and other symptoms. 2. To normalize neck movement. After investigating the cause of pain, physiotherapy plays an important role in addition to treatment as advised by the doctor. Various manual or manipulation therapies, therapeutic exercises are used. In addition, various types of electrical therapeutic devices, such as interferential therapy, infrared rays, microwave diathermy, ultrasound therapy, shortwave diathermy and intermittent cervical traction, transcutaneous electrical stimulation, etc. In some cases, it is necessary to be hospitalized and receive treatment with complete rest for two to three weeks. If conservative or medical treatment does not work, if the pain continues to increase, if nerve problems occur, if numbness occurs in the arms, hands and fingers, and if there is no control over urination or defecation, surgical treatment should be sought immediately. Stop excessive physical exertion 8. Never get a neck massage in a salon 9. Do not lie down and read for a long time or watch television 10. Keep the monitor at eye level while working on the computer 11. You can use a heating pad, hot water bottle 12. You should do exercises to make the neck muscles flexible and strong.
