Welcome to another week with FAMILIA PABLANU! Join our Multilingual and Multicultural family of 7 as we navigate life in the *Pearl of Africa*. From Nigerian-American roots to raising 5 back-to-back babies under 6, our journey is full of adventure, love, and resilience. This week, we’re digging into the vibrant Ugandan village life—literally, as we started our week pulling our car out of the muddy murram roads. If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to live debt-free, rent-free, and off-grid while raising multilingual kids, this vlog is for you! We take you on a whirlwind tour of our family life: from harvesting our first turmeric crop and other fresh organic vegetables like kale, pumpkin greens, and chard from our backyard garden to cooking SOS-Free, plant-based meals—there’s nothing like the taste of hard work and homegrown food! You’ll also catch us preparing roasted grasshoppers (Nsenene), a Ugandan delicacy! The kids are busy learning Yorùbá and Spanish, proudly carrying on our multicultural heritage, while playing with their neighborhood friends in English and Luganda. Plus, our kids had adorable moments with their baby sister! For Thanksgiving, we treated ourselves to a day of fun and gratitude at a local hotel. From swimming pool games to savoring Ugandan dishes and baked tilapia, it was a celebration to remember! Along the way, we meet new neighbors practicing for a Christmas dance competition, proving that community makes life even richer. Join us as we cherish the small joys, embrace challenges, and share unforgettable moments as a Nigerian-American family in Uganda.
