The 42nd Street Shuttle is undergoing a major reconstruction project that will significantly change its appearance and character. This video documents the shuttle right before reconstruction commenced, and also explores its rich history. As part of the first subway line in New York City, the 42nd Street Shuttle has a complex history, and much of the equipment in use on the line dates back to the 1910s-1920s. Enjoy!
