Rare! America West Boeing 737-112 Departing BUR
Recorded in 1993 America West Boeing 737-112 N708AW / 708 (cn 19771/212) This 1969 built airliner was being used at the time as a scheduled passenger aircraft for America West Airlines, as well as operating as the Phoenix Suns team plane, you'll even notice a sticker with the team emblem at the rear. BTW, this was recorded the same year that the Suns went on to finish 1st in NBA Pacific Division, under Coach Paul Westphal w/ a record of 62-20. See the research that I put in as a non-Basketball fan :) This went on to be the last -100 series used in commercial service. She was powered by JT8D-9A's (never hush-kitted). This is one of only 30 built. I had the honor of flying on this particular aircraft right before her retirement (LAX-PHX-LAX), in 1999.
