Gospel of the Day Wednesday, April 29, 2026 Audio Gospel of the day in Italian with commentary by    / @frastefano   Today's Liturgy of the Word, from the Gospel according to Matthew Glory to you, O Lord Mt 11:25-30 At that time, Jesus said: "I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and the understanding and revealed them to little ones. Yes, Father, for this is what you have purposed. All things have been delivered to me by my Father; no one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal him. Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." Word of the Lord Praise to you, O Christ Many hear this Gospel proposal in the morning, before beginning their day. It is a beautiful moment: the heart is still silent, and the Word of God can enter more easily. Yet, sometimes a strange thing happens: in the morning we feel more tired than in the evening. Not because the body is tired, but because the mind is already racing to everything that awaits us. We think of commitments, difficulties, people to meet, problems to solve... and just imagining the day ahead, we already feel oppressed. It is precisely in these situations of inner oppression that Jesus speaks to us, saying: "Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart." Jesus does not promise an easy day, free of stress, free of worries. But he promises something greater: to carry life with us. When we walk with Him, the burden doesn't disappear, but we no longer carry it alone. So perhaps the best way to start the day is precisely this: to stop for a moment and simply say to Him: "Lord, walk with me today." And we will discover that, step by step, even the heaviest days become lighter. Because with Jesus in our hearts, no burden is truly too great.
