I hate long plane rides and I hate long bus trips even more. So after a fun week in Islamabad, it was time to head up into the mountains, and much to my surprise, no flights were available. My worst fears had come true and I soon found myself booking a 14-hour bus from Islamabad to Hunza. With low expectations of the comfort of this journey, I knew what I had gotten myself into, and it's exactly as I thought. Uncomfortable seats, people vomiting out the doors and of course, one hell of a bumpy ride. After many delays throughout the journey, we eventually made it to Hunza after being on the road for 20+ hours. Do I recommend this bus trip? Absolutely not, just book the one hour flight to Gilgit instead!
