1976 Holden HJ GTS 308 Sandman UTE Restoration Project FEATURES In-house body-off restoration In-house engine rebuild New Holley carb & Edelbrock manifold Rebuilt driveline, suspension and brakes New black interior Sandman livery DESCRIPTION What OL' School Garage have created here is essentially an 'as new' Holden ute in the classic Sandman style...with a few upgrades of course! It all started with a body-off restoration. OL' School Garage couldn't go past Absinth yellow for the paint...the most iconic of Sandman colours. The black Sandman scallops are painted on, rather than the standard decals, and have been cleared to give lustrous, long-lasting finish. The pictures don't do the paint job any justice. Although at first glance the everything looks factory, the tubs have been widened to accommodate the mammoth 295 wide tyres. As a consequence, the differential has been shortened and rebuilt, featuring upgraded billet axles. The leaf springs have been professorially reset to lower the rear by a couple of inches. The engine is a mild 308ci V8. It features a Holley carburetor on top of a Edelbrock intake manifold. Pacemaker headers are coupled to a custom TIG-welded exhaust system was built and ceramic coated in-house. The exhaust note is a crisp and throaty tone. The engine bay houses a well thought out alloy radiator and a twin-thermo fan setup for maximum reliability. Both the front and rear suspension has been completely rebuilt to ensure a responsive and comfortable ride. The complete interior has been re-trimmed in black complete with that new car smell. The dash pad features GTS badging and all of the gauges are brand new. The B&M quick shifter has been grafted into the factory center console. The Kenwood CD player features MP3, AUX and USB connectivity.
