Cozy Campfire in a Fallen Kingdom | Fantasy Sleep Ambience Relaxing
Redstone Plains... Today, these silent crimson lands in the east of Eldermoor seem inhabited only by wind and memories. Broken towers, collapsed walls, and shattered arches whisper of a civilization long lost to time. Yet these lands were not always a wasteland of ash and stone. Years ago, this was the heart of the Kingdom of Veyrath. One of the most powerful realms in the eastern lands, Veyrath was known for its crimson castles, prosperous trade routes, and disciplined knights. People believed the kingdom would stand forever. But its downfall did not come from beyond its borders. It was born within its own walls. The royal archmage, Arkanis Voss, became obsessed with knowledge that mortal minds were never meant to possess. For years he gathered forbidden texts, studied forgotten languages, and searched for secrets buried deep within history. What began as curiosity slowly became obsession. Beneath the royal palace, within ancient chambers, he prepared a ritual unlike any ever attempted before. No one truly knew what he sought. Perhaps ultimate knowledge. Perhaps immortality. Perhaps a power hidden even from the gods. But the ritual failed. On that night, the sky above Veyrath split open. The stars vanished, the wind died, and a great rift appeared in the heavens. What existed beyond that rift was never discovered. Yet every survivor agreed on one thing. Something crossed through it. Something vast. Something ancient. Something burning. A colossal dragon emerged from the darkness beyond the world and descended upon Veyrath beneath wings of fire and shadow. No scholar could identify the creature. No ancient tale described it. It was as though the beast had come from another reality entirely. In the years that followed, it became known by a single name: Azhrakar. The Ashen King. The destruction of Veyrath lasted for days. First the outer walls fell, then the towers, and finally entire districts vanished beneath rivers of fire. The dragon's flames were so intense that even stone began to melt. The knights of Veyrath fought until the very end. Among them stood Sir Caelric Thorn. Caelric was more than a knight. He was Sir Aldric's closest friend. They had grown up together, trained together, and fought side by side through countless battles. When the city began to fall, the order to retreat was given. Caelric refused. He remained with the final defenders before the royal palace and never returned. When the battle ended, Veyrath was gone. Its king was dead, its armies destroyed, and its people scattered. Yet the true tragedy had only begun. Azhrakar did not die, nor did he return through the rift from which he came. Instead, he flew north. At the time, the northern mountains were peaceful lands covered by forests and crossed by clear rivers. But that would not last. Years passed. Forests began to burn. Valleys turned black. Wildlife vanished. Villages were abandoned. Those who ventured too close often disappeared without a trace. The dragon's presence seemed to poison the land itself. Trees withered, stone darkened, and smoke lingered in the air. Eventually, people stopped using the old name of those mountains. A new name emerged: Dragon's Lair. Because the land no longer belonged to men. It belonged to Azhrakar. Many years passed. Trade routes faded, castles crumbled, and the glory of Veyrath slowly became legend. Yet some wounds never heal. Sir Aldric knew this better than anyone. Redstone Plains was not only the grave of a fallen kingdom. It was also the resting place of Sir Caelric Thorn. That is why Aldric always visits this place whenever his travels lead him east. He builds a fire beside the grave, sits in silence, and remembers. Some losses never grow lighter, no matter how many years pass. Tonight is no different. A black raven watches from the gravestone while the ruined towers of Veyrath rise beyond the firelight. Yet Aldric has not come merely to mourn. The footprints discovered near Abandoned Camp, the stories whispered by Old Garrick, and the missing royal chest have led him here. All roads point to a single name: Nharok. The last scribe of Veyrath. The final witness to the kingdom's destruction. A man who vanished beneath the ruins after the war and has not been seen for years. According to old rumors, time and darkness changed him into something no longer entirely human. Yet he is said to guard a secret. Perhaps the final secret of Veyrath. Perhaps the truth of how Azhrakar entered this world. Or perhaps the one truth capable of changing the future of Eldermoor itself. That is why Sir Aldric has come. Because some answers cannot be found among the living. Some answers remain buried beneath the ashes of a dead kingdom.. 🌒 Eldermoor Chronicles - Chapter IV: Redstone Plains #FantasyAmbience #SleepMusic #MedievalAmbience #CampfireSounds #FantasyMusic #RelaxingMusic #AmbientMusic #CozyAmbience
