The Fallschirmjäger - Germany's Elite World War 2 Paratroopers

One of the most feared soldiers of the Second World War was the Fallschirmjäger. These were an elite group of paratrooper soldiers who would see action at many of the most famous battles during World War 2. In this video we look at the unit's formation and also their role in many battles such as The Battle of Monte Cassino, The Battle of Normandy and many more. Founded by Hermann Goring, the Fallschirmjäger would parachute into combat and were trusted with being the vanguard, or the bulwark in offensive or defensive action. They were trusted with being the forces spearheading an attack, and being at the front of defence. Because of this, they were also given the best and most modern World War 2 Guns and Technology that the German Industry could create.
