The month of Thanksgiving finds us grateful for the opportunity to sit down with the iconic New York trumpet legend, the one and only Marvin Stamm. Marvin graciously shares his memories of one of the great trumpet careers of all-time, including his early years touring with Stan Kenton, Woody Herman and Benny Goodman, his rise to prominence in the New York studio scene in the late ‘60s, his important connection with the Thad Jones/Mel Lewis band, being a part of the great Bob Mintzer’s early big band, recording with the likes of Bill Evans, Quincy Jones, Paul McCartney, Oliver Nelson, Wes Montgomery and Pat Williams and forging his esteemed career as a jazz solo artist.
