With permeable pavements gaining acceptance, projects that must be installed mechanically are becoming more common. Thus the need for skilled mechanized installation professionals is increasing. There are advantages and disadvantages using an excavator to install pavers but reports from contractors using this clamp have been very positive. With excavators common to many construction companies, and with many skilled operators already available, this type of mechanical paver installation is certain to increase. Installation production with an excavator will never match that of the complete PaverMAX but it does offer productivity improvement beyond anything possible with manual labor alone.
