Over its long life, the UAZ Patriot has undergone countless upgrades. This SUV appeared in 2005 and was essentially a heavily redesigned version of the UAZ Simbir. In 2012, the Patriot received a new interior, in 2013 – a Korean Dymos transfer case, and in 2014, a major restyling took place, giving the Patriot its current appearance. A year later, the ZMZ engine's output was increased from 128 to 135 hp, and in 2016, a single fuel tank and adjustable steering wheel for reach were added. Two years later, the Patriot received a 150 hp ZMZ Pro engine and a revised suspension. Finally, in 2019, an automatic transmission debuted on the Patriot. Despite this, sales have plummeted by half compared to 20,000 vehicles sold in 2014. Last year, however, the share of automatic versions reached a whopping 40%.
