German Defense Games: The Knife Attack Final After three intense challenges, the winner of the first German Defense Games will be decided today. In the final, Christian Jungwirth, Judith, and Heiko Lempio face what is arguably the most dangerous challenge of the entire season: a knife attack. In the first scenario, the participants are locked in the octagon and unexpectedly confronted by a knife-wielding assailant. Their task: to survive against the attacker for 60 seconds. In the second scenario, they are also given a rubberized training baton as an aid. Whether this gives them a decisive advantage or creates new problems will only become clear under pressure. For the simulation, we are not using a real knife attack. Instead, a red marker is used. Each mark on the white shirt is subsequently evaluated by our emergency physician and shows what the likely consequences of a real knife attack would have been. In the end, the jury decides who has prevailed against the toughest competition and will receive the Iron Torch as the first winner of the German Defense Games. Enjoy the final! ``` Each situation is then evaluated by an independent panel of experts: Attorney Felician Scheu assesses the legal aspects. The emergency physician assesses the medical consequences. I evaluate the situation from a security-tactical perspective. Using our traffic light rating system, a maximum of 6 points can be achieved per situation. At the end of the series, the participant with the highest total score wins the first German Defense Games and receives the trophy: The Iron Torch. This format combines self-defense, de-escalation, martial arts, law, medicine, and realistic everyday scenarios with the goal of demonstrating which strategies truly work under pressure. As a former law enforcement tactical trainer and developer of the online course "Surviving a Knife Attack," I have been analyzing real-life acts of violence and knife attacks for years. It is striking how often many techniques are presented in videos in a highly abbreviated way or can even lead to dangerous misjudgments in a real-life situation. That's precisely why I developed the German Defense Games: to evaluate self-defense as realistically and objectively as possible, from the perspectives of law, medicine, and self-protection tactics, and to present it to you, the viewer, in the simplest way possible. A quick note: The format is inspired by the fantastic American series USDC. Highly recommended! We didn't want to copy the concept, but rather adapt it for the German-speaking world. Therefore, we feature a jury of experts in security, law, and medicine, a simplified scoring system, significantly more concise challenges, and classification according to German law. Thanks to USDC for the inspiration, and enjoy the German version! 🇩🇪🫡 ⸻ My online training: Surviving a knife attack 👉 https://einsatz-coach.coachy.net/lp/m... ⸻ A huge thank you to our sponsor, Phoenix Budoshop, who provided us with the high-quality protective equipment and made this format possible in the first place. https://phoenix-budoshop.de ⸻ A big thank you to @Pyranha mma for providing us with the gym for this episode. 🫡🤝 ⸻ Links to legal self-defense tools: Quickshield: a well-designed protective shield, discreetly disguised as a pouch: For the community❗️► 10% discount + FREE training knife with the code: Einsatz ⬇️ https://quickshield-shop.myshopify.com #1 Animal Repellent Device: https://amzn.to/48a8PjN Tactical Flashlight: https://amzn.to/4dSoSpS Tactical Flashlight [10,000 lumens]: https://amzn.to/4thSYHQ Tactical Pen: https://amzn.to/47rcube Tactical Pen [discreet]: https://amzn.to/3TxvVto [Advertisement] All links in this section are affiliate links.
