I went for a spin in the rental karts, known as Racing Karts, at Twin Ring Motegi. I heard that if you can get a lap time under 45 seconds, you can get an advanced A license and ride the fastest kart, so I decided to give it a try. I rode them a lot when they were still operating with the pre-renovation PK50, but since the renovation...maybe twice? Even though they were renovated, it was quite a while ago, and it feels like it's been over 10 years...lol Back then, they used a Birel N35 frame, but now they've replaced it with a Sodi Kart RT8, is that right? It has brake lights and is designed to prevent rear-end collisions from those driving behind. It seems you can also set the limiter with a remote control, which allows for more versatility with a single kart. Times have changed, haven't they? lol There are guards around the tires, and they're designed to prevent tipping over even if you hit something, so it looks very safe. I wish we had karts like this when I was working at the rental kart circuit.
