2025 on the Hartford-Springfield Line. CTRail Commuter Trains, Amtrak Vermonters, CSOR Freight.

Some of my favorite shots from this past year on the Hartford Springfield Line. A former New York New Haven and Hartford Railroad Line that connected New Haven to Springfield, Massachusetts, where the connection was made with the former Boston & Albany Railroad. Today CT Rail runs commuter trains along the line, as well as seeing Amtrak locals and is the main line for the Amtrak Vermonter. Freight traffic on the line is handled by Connecticut Southern, a subsidiary of Genesee and Wyoming, which works a Hartford to West Springfield turn during daylight hours, and a West Springfield to Cedar Hill Yard Turn on the overnight. Locations featured along the line include New Haven, Cedar Hill Yard, North Haven, Wallingford, Hartford, Windsor, Windsor Locks, and the Connecticut River Bridge.
