The location of the factory Intercooler makes it susceptible to damage when off-roading causing it to leak and worst case turning it into a drinking straw damaging the otherwise bullet-proof 4M41 Engine. Upgrading the intercooler size and mounting it higher is a common upgrade providing cooler intake temperatures and keeps it out of harms way.
