Where and Why Should You Nymph With 1 or 2 Flies
Over the last year I have noticed some interesting trends on the topic of fishing one or two flies when Euro nymphing. During this time, I have judged quite a few anglers at competitions and observed them sticking with one fly or two flies in water types where I felt a change would have been beneficial. I have also seen quite a few posts on social media, and heard a few podcast interviews with high level anglers, which suggested quite a few folks are a bit dogmatic when it comes to fishing one or two flies when nymphing. I used to be a bit more inflexible regarding rigging myself, which I believe held me back at times. Over the years I have found a few general situations where a one or a two fly rig tends to be best for me. In the video I just published, I share the pros and cons of fishing one or two nymphs and the situations when I am mostly likely to rig one way or the other. If you happen to be a bit inflexible yourself, hopefully this video will inspire you to experiment a little more and find situations where adapting your rig will help you be more successful. You can watch the video by clicking the play button below. In a follow up video, we'll head to the water where I will demonstrate a couple of situations where I chose to fish one or two flies based on the target holding water. Thanks for watching.
