He learned the hard way about the importance of being involved in the financial side of film-making, since expenses related to the film were being charged back to him. His big-budget distributor, Orion, later went bankrupt after losing money on the film 'Eight Heads in a Duffel Bag,' causing additional complications. Williamson also shared insights on his role in 'Black Cobra' which he did his way, emphasizing his refusal to tarnish his image by accepting roles that didn't align with his character. A notable and persistent problem for Williamson was that scripts often ended in his character’s death, something he strongly rejected. Consequently, he has turned down numerous roles to maintain the image he’s cultivated throughout his career.
