This is the fifth installment of a challenge project by a train-loving dad in his 60s. From Nagoya/Tsurumai, I took the Chuo Line train departing at 6:20 AM to Ena Station. I checked in for the Agar-Agar Train, which I had reserved in advance. I got a commemorative ticket (one-day pass) for the dining car of the Taisho Roman Express! I challenged myself to visit all 11 stations of the local Akechi Railway in one day. Gokuraku Station is my favorite station 😍 The cherry blossoms at Higashino Station were beautiful. Iihama Station has the most rural scenery in Japan. Iinuma Station has the steepest gradient in Japan. Yamaoka Station is agar-agar. I took the Taisho Roman Express No. 2 to Ena Station. From Ena Station, I took the Agar-Agar Train to Akechi Station. I enjoyed a kaiseki meal of agar-agar in the dining car of the Taisho Roman Express No. 1 🥰 Akechi Station retains the atmosphere of Taisho modernism. Unfortunately, the hot springs at Hanashiro Onsen Station were closed. I enjoyed sunbathing at Noshi Station. A stroll around the ruins of Agi Castle at Agi Station. Finishing at Iwamura Station!
