I drew the same thing for 5 years - YEARLY (sorta) UNDERTALE SPEEDPAINT!

So I don't care if it's the year of our lord 2025, I still love Undertale unironically and I'm tired of pretending I don't. Cringe is dead, long live nostalgia. But actually, Undertale was my biggest obsession in middle school and I have so so many fond memories of that incredible indie game. All the characters and the humor and the world is just ahh so good dude. It's a big inspo for HABROMANIA and my own game dev goals! Anyway, I have redrawn this piece of fanart once every year (ignore the two years I missed hehe) and it's always so fun to do. When it comes to these yearly redraws I do sometimes, it's not so much comparing how I've improved as it is just seeing how my art style has changed from a neutral standpoint. Recently, I've really prioritized thick lineart and explored different ways of coloring and rendering. I didn't look at the prior redraws while making this piece (aside from right at the beginning of the sketching phase) because I didn't want to be influenced by artist choices I made in the past, and instead wanted to approach this piece organically. I like how it turned out! I let myself draw more stylized and didn't force myself to try and be super detailed with shading like previous years. I also wanted to try something new with the "game over" motif that's appeared in most of the redraws. Thanks for watching!
