They were part of the 2nd Air Division, denominated by the Circle on the tails of their B-24s. The 453rd flew 259 missions with their B-24 Liberators. They dropped 15,804 tonnes of bombs and in the process lost 58 aircraft. 366 servicemen lost their lives serving at RAF Old Buckenham.
