Ex-FBI agent breaks down Louvre security lapses in US$102m heist

Thieves broke into the Louvre on Sunday (Oct 19), making off with jewels worth an estimated US$102 million in a shocking daytime heist. They used a crane to smash an upstairs window, threaten security guards with cutting tools, and bagged nine priceless items before escaping on motorbikes. The daring raid was the latest in a string of museum thefts around Europe. Robert King Wittman, a former special agent with the United States’ Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), examines the security vulnerabilities in the world-famous Paris museum that allowed the robbery to occur.
