Thatching At Lough Gur

Master Thatcher Risteard O' Loideoin introduces the art of thatching in Lough Gur, April 2021. Lough Gur is located 21kms from Limerick City. It is home to Ireland's oldest and largest stone circle along with 136 archaeological monuments in State care. By the lakefront of Lough Gur you will find a thatched roof Visitor Centre on the hillside. The site is open all year round. There is also a Solstice Park Playground and Environmental Information Point Kiosk within the grounds of Lough Gur Lakeshore Park along with winding trails and viewing points.
