JEDDAH - The Gateway to MAKKAH in SAUDI ARABIA! 🇸🇦

Jeddah جدة Saudi Arabia السعودية - The gateway for pilgrimages to the Islamic holy cities of Makkah/Mecca مكة and Madinah/Medina المدينة المنورة. The city’s Al-Balad historic district, also known as Old Jeddah البلد dates to the 7th century and retains traditional homes built from coral. In this video I'll explore Al-Balad , visiting the beautiful Herbalists Lane زقاق العطارة, and following in the footsteps of the great Mark Weins with lunch at Albasali seafood restaurant مطعم البصلي للاسماك والمأكولات البحرية I'll visit Baab Makkah باب مكة, the historical gateway to the city of Makkah through which hundreds of millions of pilgrims have crossed on their way to the holiest city. Then it will be on to the seafront of Jeddah's incredible corniche, visiting Jeddah Promenade جدة بروميناد and Al Rahmah Mosque مسجد الرحمة (The floating mosque). There'll be a traditional local snack of Mutabbaq at Olfat Al Halawani مطبق ورقائق عماد ألفت الحلواني (The food is so good here!) before calling it a day. Day 2 will be a visit to the wonderful Al Taybat International City Museum of Science and Information متحف مدينة الطيبات العالمية للعلوم والمعرفة Then more AMAZING Saudi food at Hareed Restaurant مطعم هريد, specializing in traditional slow cooked lamb. For sunset there's a visit to Middle Corniche Park حديقة الكورنيش الأوسط and the world's tallest water fountain - King Fahad's Fountain نافورة الملك فهد Finally, to finish, I'll revisit Al-Balad after sun down.
