Daytona 500 1973 Petty Wins With 426 Hemi for 4th Time
Richard Petty won the 1973 Daytona 500, driving his #43 STP Dodge Charger to his fourth victory in the event. Because of the energy crisis, the race distance was shortened by 10% to 180 laps (450 miles) and is often referred to as the Daytona 450.
