Rochelle Jordan Live in Concert | CBC Music Live

The lineup of fans outside the Opera House snakes around the block. An hour before showtime, the venue fills with stylish, beautiful people. It is a Friday night and clearly this is the place to be in Toronto: ‪@iamRochelleJordan‬'s headlining show. The Toronto R&B singer’s latest album, Through the Wall, made it onto CBC Music's list of best albums of the year, as well as the year-end lists of the Guardian, Billboard, Fader and more. After such success, hometown fans, friends and family are ready to celebrate, sing and dance. First DJ Chrysalis takes the stage and drops the needle as the lights come up and Jordan appears in silhouette, channeling Diana Ross. Jordan begins appropriately with Grace, and then kicks into a sing-along dance party. She ends by asking the frenzied audience to choose the encore song by cheering for the song they like the most: Lowkey receives the loudest applause, but this concert is everything but.
