From polymer clay to wool punch needle crafts - clients demonstrated how these projects can be completed independently using tactile methods. One client shared what he has learned throughout his own woodworking journey, including training with Woodworkers for the Blind and a recent dog ramp project for his Chihuahua, highlighting how he uses specialized tools like talking angle gauges and digital protractors. The group discussed various other hobbies including sailing with the Marin Sailing Club for the Blind, coin and stamp collecting, radio-controlled cars, knitting, and goalball. Participants also shared tips about using voice memos for recording stories and songs and discussed travel opportunities for visually impaired individuals including trips to India with TravelEyes. The conversation ended with discussions about potential crafting workshops that could be held at the Vista Center to teach clients various textile arts projects including macrame, tie-dyeing, and natural plant dyeing.
