Crochet foldable water bottle holders / charms crochet pattern

Hello everyone. Thank you for clicking on my video! I’ve got a cute pattern here for a foldable water bottle holder. When folded, you can hang it from a backpack or a pocket book. Looks adorable as a bag charm! ❤️ These make great gifts and prizes! This pattern works up pretty quickly. I hope you enjoy! Happy crocheting! ❤️🧶 Materials I used for this small project: Size 4 acrylic yarn (cotton yarn works well too) Size 3.5mm crochet hook Blunt tip needle to weave in your ends Scissors Note: I chain 1 at the start of my rounds but my chain 1 does not count as a stitch. ******please keep in mind that different yarn types and an individual’s yarn tension can play a role in the final result. Handmade items can vary in sizing ****** Abbreviations: MR = magic ring HDC = half double crochet INC = increase F/O = fasten off SL ST = slip stitch CH = chain Make 2 circles: R1.) 10HDC in the MR R2.) 1INC in each stitch around (20) R3.) 1INC in each stitch around (40) Don’t F/O, we are going to make the straps. In the first circle, SL ST into the first stitch and chain 70 then SL ST back into the first stitch, chain 1 then F/O and weave in your end. In the 2nd circle SL ST to the first stitch and chain 6, then SL ST back into the first stitch, chain 1 then F/O and weave in your end. (Feel free to add or remove as many chains as you’d like to customize your length. I personally feel like this is a good length for me😊). We are going to work on the edging and then we’ll attach the two circles together. Let’s place stitch markers in stitch #4 & 38 in both circles. Attach new yarn to the 4th stitch of one of the circles. (Right side facing you). CH2 (my CH2 does not count as a stitch). Do 1 DC in each stitch from one stitch marker to the next. This will complete 35DC with 5 un-worked stitches. Turn your work. Place the circles together (right sides facing each other). Insert your hook into the first DC and the first stitch marker from the second circle. Do 1SC in each stitch making sure that you are doing your SC thru both circles. Work 35SC from the first stitch marker to the second. Then work 5SC in those un-worked stitches but only in the first circle. SL ST into the first SC. This will leave a small opening. Don’t F/O unless you’d like to change your color. Time to do the body of the holder. I find this part of the pattern to be quick and soothing 😊 R1.) CH3 (this counts as a DC and a chain 1), skip 1 stitch, 1 DC in the next. CH1, skip 1, 1 DC in the next. CH1, skip 1, 1DC in the next.. repeat around. At the end of your round there should be 20DC and 20 CH1 spaces. SL ST into the first CH1 space. R2-10.) CH3 (counts as 1DC and CH1), 1DC into the next CH1 space. CH1 then 1DC into the next CH1 space. CH1 then 1DC into the next CH1 space.. repeat around. R11.) CH1, 2SC in each CH1 space around. (40) SL ST into the first SC. Don’t F/O, we are going to do the strap. Do 1SC in each of the next 2 stitches, CH1, turn. 2SC, CH1, turn. 2SC. Repeat this pattern until you achieve your desired length. I personally did 40 rows which roughly measured 9-10 inches. Then fold your opening in half to determine the 2SC directly across from your strap. Work 2SC to attach your strap, F/O and leave a tail. With a blunt tip needle reinforce your strap. Refer to my video at 17:25 for a visual. When you’re done F/O then weave in your ends.
