2023 Open Communication with Partners and Providers on the Subject of Sex - Martha Wiggin
The Ehlers-Danlos Society Global Learning Conference 2023. A common issue for people with a disability or chronic condition can be a lack of recognition or discussion about sex and sexuality by providers, and even partners. In this session, some of the common barriers and myths that get in the way of conversations related to sex, sexuality, and sexual health are discussed. Martha has worked in healthcare for 25 years, in a range of clinical and community settings in Canada, the United States and sub-Saharan Africa, where she founded an HIV testing and education centre on a high school campus. She develops and delivers workshops and trainings for healthcare providers and people living with chronic conditions.
