Playing the Field Festival – Interview with Gary Bennetton

On Southampton’s Voice FM, host Chris Schtrups interviews festival founder Gary Bennetton about the Playing the Field Festival at Silverlake Stadium in Eastleigh over the bank holiday weekend (23rd & 24th May). Gary says the event was launched as a flagship annual festival for the Southampton area, with a long-term ambition to move to Southampton Common, and focuses on keeping benefits and involvement local. Saturday is family-friendly with live bands and entertainment, headlined by Razorlight and featuring The Fratellis, Chesney Hawkes, Dougie Poynter, local acts, kids activities, fairground rides, VIP options, and a large LED fan-zone screen to show Southampton’s Wembley match, with flexible late entry. Sunday is “Dance in the Field,” 18+ only, with dance/electronic line-ups including Pendulum, Shy FX, Sigala, and multiple arenas.
