The moment the garlic bossam was placed on the table, Ayako and I were left speechless. The overwhelming visual of the garlic sauce piled high like a small mountain! "Is all of this garlic?" Even though we only ordered bossam, the restaurant served sundubu jjigae, chive and squid pancakes, and even spicy stir-fried squid as complimentary dishes, which surprised Ayako. She said it was something she couldn't even imagine in Japan. We took a bite of the tenderly boiled meat topped with plenty of the delicious, sweet and flavorful garlic sauce, then another bite with freshly made gochori kimchi and crunchy dried radish! Add some cold makgeolli to the mix, and it was pure heaven. In particular, the combination of bossam and stir-fried squid, a divine touch unique to this restaurant, was truly a new world. We toasted countless times to the fantastic harmony of fragrant bossam and spicy squid. "Korea is truly wonderful because you can feel the warmth between the people," Ayako said, her heartfelt words warming my heart as she relaxed in front of the delicious food.
