Shock and Awe: Sgt. Paul Jackson and Lt. Vasquez’s squad join the assault on Khaled Al-Asad’s capital, providing air support before moving in to reinforce Marines under heavy attack. As U.S. forces begin evacuating due to a nuclear threat, the squad stops to rescue a downed Cobra pilot. Moments later, the nuclear weapon detonates and destroys the city. Aftermath: Mortally wounded, Jackson awakens inside the wreckage of the crashed helicopter and crawls into the devastated wasteland left by the explosion. Surrounded by destruction and the bodies of his squad, he eventually collapses from his injuries and radiation exposure.
