María Paulina Jaramillo interviews Colombian soprano Betty Garcés. An opportunity to learn more about the national and international artistic career of this leading figure in opera. Currently, Betty Garcés is one of the most renowned and celebrated Colombian opera singers on the international stage. Since 2009, when she traveled to Germany to specialize in opera and lieder, Betty has forged a career that takes her to engagements all over the world. She has performed a wide range of roles from the operatic repertoire of the Classical, Romantic, European nationalist, and 20th-century periods, an activity she pursues alongside her solo concerts, which feature a strong presence of works from the late 19th century. Meanwhile, Antonia Valente has developed a fruitful career as a chamber musician, performing in countries such as Italy, Spain, Portugal, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Algeria, Egypt, and the United Kingdom.
