TREE CULTIVATION TECHNIQUES OF IMPORTANT TREE SPECIES Red Sanders (Pterocarpus santalinus) is an Indian endemic tree species, with a restricted geographical range in the Eastern Ghats. It usually grow in the rocky, degraded and fallow lands with Red Soil and hot and dry climate. It is known for its rich hue and therapeutic properties are high in demand across Asia, particularly in China and Japan. IFGTB`s role in conservation of Red Sanders, Myth and Facts of Red Sanders’ market, distribution and plantation techniques are explained in this module.
