Lucien Bouchard reflects on the meaning of power when it is linked to responsibility rather than prestige. His talk invites young people to see leadership as a demanding commitment to truth, courage, and the common good. Through the lessons of a long public career, he shows that influence takes on its full meaning when it serves to listen, decide, and contribute to a society more aware of its responsibilities. Lucien Bouchard is a Quebec lawyer and politician born in 1938 in Saint-Cœur-de-Marie. A former Canadian ambassador to France, he founded the Bloc Québécois, led the Official Opposition in Ottawa, and then served as Premier of Quebec from 1996 to 2001. He will speak about what he has learned throughout his life and career, which has been shaped by powerful experiences.
