Tube Gate Anchor, Stop and Prop - homemade solutions

Easy ways to keep a tube gate fixed in place while open or closed, with built in support to prevent the gate from sagging. Tops of vertical boards were cut at 45 degrees to shed rain. The cane bolt used is 1/2" diameter and can be found in hardware stores for about $10. To prevent the 2x4 prop block surface from scuffing paint off the gate's bottom tube, some tape, UV stable zip ties, stainless steel adjustable clamps or simple wire tied around that tube section would create an air gap between the two surfaces.
